Sebnem Cilesiz Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Cilesiz's background includes a B.S. in mathematics education from Middle East Technical University and an Ed.M. in educational technology from Harvard University. After earning her Ph.D. degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Florida, she has worked as an assistant professor at the Ohio State University prior to joining the faculty at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Currently, she teaches graduate courses in qualitative research methodology and curriculum theory and advises doctoral students in the Educational Leadership program. Her current research focuses on educational attainment of students from high poverty urban schools, students’ everyday experiences with technology, discourses of educational leadership, and qualitative research methodology.
