Dorothy Slater is in her second year in the EDFL doctoral program, with a focus on comparative and international education policy, as well as the cognitive conjunction of second language acquistion and music in the ESL classroom.

Dorothy is also a classically trained vocalist, and specializes in the operateric literature of the 19th century. She recieved her Masters of Music at the Chicago College of the Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. For more information please visit www.dorothyslatersoprano.com

Twyla A. Williams-Damond is in her first year in the EDFL doctoral program, with a focus on higher education law.
She received her Masters of Business and Health Administration at the University of Louisiana- Lafayette. Her undergraduate degree, Bachelor of General Studies with emphasis on Applied and Behavioral sciences, was also obtained at the University of Louisiana- Lafayette. Shonda Garner Brooks is the GA for Dr. Paula Montgomery, associate Dean, in the College of Education. She taught for 13 years in St. Landry Parish prior to joining the staff at UL. She is pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
In addition to being a GA, Shonda is also the founder of the Family Strong Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to improve the economic status of the residents of St. Landry parish. For more information please visit http://familystrongfoundation.blogspot.com

Savannah R. Cormier is in her second year in the Counselor Education master’s program, in the Mental Health track. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2011.
In addition to being a Graduate Assistant for EDFL, Savannah works as an intern at UL’s Clinic for Counseling and Personal Development and Healing House, a non-profit agency for grieving children. For more informaion please email savannahcormier@yahoo.com
